Goals from new Pats' signing Alan Kirby and Waterford's Vinnie Sullivan saw the Saints pre-season start witha draw.

Having lost Daragh Maguire with a head injury during the early stages of the game and having had a Michael Foley goal ruled out for offside the home side took the lead on the quarter hour.

A good ball in from the right wing was met by Alan Kirby who fired past blues keeper Packie Holden from 12 yards.

It took Waterford only four minutes to get back on level terms however when a mix up in the St Pats defence put Vinne Sullivan clear
to finish well, lobbing the ball to the far corner.

Both sides had chances to win the game however neither could find a breakthrough.
