Linfield 1 - St Patrick's Athletic 1Jamie Mulgrew scored with an 89th minute deflected shot to earn Linfield a point in Tuesday night's Setanta Cup match against St Pat's at Windsor Park. Keith Fahey put St Pat's ahead with a backpost header from a Mark Quigley right-foot cross after 34 minutes. In the second half, Glenn Ferguson shot over, Noel Bailie saw a left-foot drive saved, Mulgrew headed against the bar and William Murphy had a shot cleared. Linfield head Group 2 on seven points, ahead of Derry City on goals scored. St Pat's have five points so can still qualify for the semi-finals of the competition. Alan Kirby had an early cross pushed out by Alan Mannus and then Quigley fired wide after confusion in the Linfield defence. Stephen Paisley headed over and then Blues striker Michael Carvill saw his shot dealt with by visiting goalkeeper Barry Ryan. Fahey's goal saw his side deservedly go in a goal up at half-time and after the break Quigley almost extended the lead with a left-foot shot which whistled wide. Ferguson, Bailie and Mulgrew had chances for the Blues as the Irish League champions came more into the game while skipper Murphy's effort was cleared off the line. Both sides could have been awarded penalties as Murphy challenged Glenn Fitzpatrick and Stephen Brennan halted Carvill. Mannus saved from Jamie Hayes but then substitute Paul McAreavey touched a free-kick to Mulgrew whose shot found the back of the net off a St Pat's player. © BBC Sport
