    New Zealand international Max Mata signed for The Saints on December 1st 2025 ahead of the 2026 season.

    The 25-year-old arrived at Richmond Park having most recently been with Auckland FC, where he won the Australian A League last season.

    Mata returns to the League of Ireland following a successful 18 months with Sligo Rovers from February 2022 to August 2023, as well as a loan spell at The Showgrounds in 2024, he formed a great partnership with his now St Patrick's Athletic team-mate Aidan Keena.

    Max scored 22 times in 64 games for Sligo.

    The striker has also played in New Zealand, America, Switzerland, Estonia and England
