Under-18 Friendly Match
Sunday, April 6th
Republic of Ireland v Malta
Dalymount Park,
Kick Off: 7:00pm

NOEL HAVERTY AND DEREK FORAN
join up with Ireland's Under 18 squad for this weekend's friendly international against Malta. The current St Pat's Under 17s players are part of an 18-man panel comprised of players currently playing their football within schoolboy leagues around the country and the eircom Under-21 league.
Under-18 manager Sean McCaffrey is presently in Hungary with the Under-17 International squad so FAI Player Development Manager John Morling will be in charge for the game.
“The Malta game is an opportunity for our home-based players to stake a claim for recognition ahead of next year's UEFA Under-19 qualifying series,” explained Morling. "This is a full International and for most of the squad, it will be their first Irish cap."
"Most of the lads have been involved in the FAI's 'Emerging Talent Programme', which was piloted in three Regional centres around the country last season and they have been selected on merit based on assessments of their training and match performance."
