Result: Cork 0 - Saints 2

Fan favourite Chris Forrester was the hero for St Patrick's Athletic at a raucous and throbbing Turner's Cross, which saw the visitors win 2-0.

The Inchicore side had every incentive to go and win the tie to go top, but Drogheda's win over Derry denied them on the night.

Midfield magician, Forrester provided the spark in the 43rd minute with a sweet left-footed drive into the far top corner of Tein Troost's net.

The goal was somewhat against the run of play arriving just before the interval, but there could be no argument when Brandon Kavanagh doubled the Super Saints' advantage with a second goal right on 45 minutes.
