Welcoming Loan Signing Romal Palmer

Midfielder Romal Palmer has joined us on loan from Turkish side Göztepe.

Palmer spent 10 years in the Manchester City Academy before joining Barnsley in 2017, the made 70 appearances in the EFL Championship between 2019 and 2022 before moving to Turkey in July 2022.

The 25-year-old, who was born in Wigan, played 33 times in the TFF First League.

Manager Jon Daly has been welcoming his tenth new recruit ahead of the 2024 season:

"Romal is another good signing for us and we're really pleased joined the club.

He grew up in the Manchester City Academy and played 70 games in The Championship as well as his recent spell in Turkey, so he's played lots of games at a high level.

We feel he'll add to our squad and compliment our other midfield players.

Romal has been in with us for the last few days and has settled well into the group.

We're looking forward to working with him."

Palmer spoke to our Youtube channel shortly after signing, you can watch the full interview via the link above::

"I'm excited to be here at St Pat's and thanks so much to everyone for the welcome, it's a great club and after looking into it, I was excited about the prospect of joining.

I'm looking forward to getting things kick-started and seeing how it goes.

Seeing the team do so well last year and winning the club was a big part of me wanting to come here.

It looked like an amazing day and as a footballer you want to win cup and win medals.

As soon as I spoke to Jon (Daly), I was automatically connected with the move and here I am.

I've heard a lot of things about the league, the club and the fans and I'm just excited to get going."

Romal will wear the number 17 shirt at Richmond Park.
