Luke Turner Is A Saint

St Patrick's Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of defender Luke Turner (21) on a multi-year contract from Cliftonville, for an undisclosed fee.

Goalkeeper David Odumosu, who has been on loan at Solitude from St Pat's since July 2023, has joined Cliftonville on a permanent deal as part of the agreement.

Odumosu made seven league appearances during his time at Richmond Park.

Luke, who is a Republic of Ireland underage international, won the 21/22 Irish League Cup with Cliftonville, and was named NI Football League, NI Football Writers and Ulster Young Player of the Year that season as well as Cliftonville Young Player of the Year.

Dublin Turner is delighted to be a Saint:

"I found out about the possibility of joining the club on Friday and it was pure elation to the honest.

I used to come here to Richmond Park as a kid and watch the likes of Christy Fagan and Chris Forrester during his first spell, it feels brilliant to be a St Pat's player now.

The club had a great season last year, winning the FAI Cup and finishing in the top three and qualifying for Europe, hopefully we can push for trophies again this year, we want to be a top team in the League of Ireland.

Jon (Daly) has loads of experience as a player and as a coach and we've had some good conversations, how he wants to team to play I feel will be perfect for me and I'm really looking forward to getting going.

St Pat's is a family club, the people around here care so much about the club and I'll be no different.

I'm going to try my hardest for the club, for the manager and for the fans, the club has shown great faith in me so I just want to get out on the pitch and repay that and show everyone what I can do and hopefully I can be part of a success here."

Manager Jon Daly said:

"There was a lot of interest in Luke from other clubs so we're really happy to have him on board.

Luke is a player we have been monitoring over recent months and we've been really impressed with him.

He's a local boy and understands what it means to play for Pat's.

He'll add quality to our squad and increase our options at centre-back.

It's a position we've been looking to strengthen and now we have great competition in that area with Joe Redmond, Conor Keeley, Alfie Taylor, Tom Grivosti and Luke.

We'd also like to thank David Odumosu for his time with us and wish him all the best at Cliftonville and for the future."
