Academy Weekend Report (March 5th/6th)

The EA Sports National Underage Leagues kicked off at the weekend with all of our Saints Academy teams in action.

Things got underway on Saturday morning as our U14s played their first competitive game for the club away to Athlone Town, it was great to see so many talented young players playing their first match in the famous red and white.

Our U17s had a brilliant 2-1 win away to Bohemians at St Aidan's CBS. New signing Sean McHale opened the scoring with a header from a Taylor Mooney corner before Matty O'Hara doubled the lead at the back post after another Mooney assist.

Sunday saw our U19s in action at home to Cork City in TU Dublin Blanchardstown, it finished 2-2, Kyle Robinson got both.

While our U15s finished off the weekend in style with a great 3-2 victory away to last year's champions Galway United. Rokas Katkauskas, Charlie Hamilton & Callum Bolger got the goals with Wes Benton saving a penalty at 2-2.

Next weekend will see our U14s and U17s both at home to Club Kildare on Saturday, with our U15s at home to Dundalk and U19s set to host UCD AFC.
