TEAM NEWS: SAINTS Vs Dundalk (Sunday, 5.45)
St Patrick's Athletic host Dundalk in Richmond Park in the SSE Airtricity League on Sunday evening (kick-off 5.45pm).
After a midweek 3-2 away defeat to Finn Harps in Ballybofey, the Saints will be hoping to bounce back having previously been unbeaten in the four previous league games.
In team news, the Saints have a full squad available to select from.
Reflecting on the midweek defeat to Finn Harps, Saints' Head Coach Stephen O'Donnell expressed his disappointment having looked back on the game.
"It was disappointing. When the opposition go two goals up after 10 minutes, it is always going to be very difficult. However despite that, I thought from that moment on we got back into it well and played well for long periods. But after we got the equaliser, maybe we thought the hard work was done and the win would come. I don't know why, but unfortunately we got passive again in our play and in conceding the goal. It was disappointing."
Looking ahead to facing the Lilywhites, who are fresh off their UEFA Europa League group game loss to Arsenal on Thursday, O'Donnell admitted that he is expecting to come up against a strong side.
"With the games coming so quick, we do not have a lot of time on the training pitch. Our schedule is mainly about recovering and having the bodies right for the game, as well as plenty of analysis on Dundalk. We have been trying to think about how they will set up, but given theyâ€â„¢ve a big squad of 20 plus players and have been rotating a lot, it is difficult.
"No matter who will lines out for them though, we know they will have a strong squad out. But we are looking forward to the game and if we produce the good play we showed for long spells against Harps, we will give ourselves a chance."
