Preview: Saints Vs Sligo

St Patrick's Athletic welcome Sligo Rovers to Richmond Park on Saturday evening as the Inchicore side look to climb the SSE Airtricity League standings.

The Saints will be looking for a repeat of their previous encounter against the Bit O'Red when Stephen O'Donnell's side claimed the points in the Showgrounds thanks to a 2-0 win all the way back in February.

In team news, head coach O'Donnell has no injuries to contend with as he prepares his side to face a Sligo side managed by former Saints manager Liam Buckley, who O'Donnell admits he has huge respect for given the honours he won at the club.

"Liam has a real history with Pat's and was really successful here so we will welcome him back to Inchicore with his Sligo team. His sides always like to play football and so do we so I think it'll be a good, entertaining game on Saturday," O'Donnell told stpatsfc.com

"We are hoping to get back on track and with eight games to go, we want to go on a bit of a run and propel ourselves into the top half of the table with a view to getting up towards the European spots. That is the aim and all the players are really dialled in on it and looking forward to the game."
