TEAM NEWS: Dundalk V Saints (Friday, 7.45pm)
St Patrick's Athletic face their second away fixture in four days as they make the trip to Oriel Park to face SSE Airtricity League champions Dundalk in their final game of the 2019 season (kick-off 7.45pm, LIVE on RTÉ 2).
First team head coach Stephen O'Donnell will take charge of the Saints for the first time against his former club off the back of a 3-1 win against Derry City on Tuesday which gives the Saints an outside chance of finishing fourth in the league and securing Europa League football in 2020.
O'Donnell has no injury worries ahead of the game against the Lilywhites, as the Saints look to record a second league win this week.
"It was a good win during the week," O'Donnell told stpatsfc.com who was particularly happy with his players bouncing back from going a goal down against Derry. "I thought we played well in the first half, but then we went 1-0 down. All credit to the players though, as they kept going and once they got the first, they pushed on from there and won the game well."
Looking ahead to the game against a side which he played for and won four league titles with, O'Donnell stressed that he and the players would be focused on trying to finish the season with a win.
"It is funny the way things have worked out that my first game in Oriel Park with St Pat's is the night Dundalk will be presented the league title. But I know I and the players will be fully focused on the game. The game is on television and it is a great opportunity for the players to show their skills and we want to pick up another win and finish the season with as many points as we can."
