Team News: Cork Vs Saints
St Patrick's Athletic travel south to face Cork City in Turner's Cross on Friday evening in the SSE Airtricity League (kick-off 8pm, LIVE on eir Sport 1).
Pat's come into the game off the back of a 1-0 defeat to league leaders Dundalk, with John Mountney's goal proving the difference between the sides in Richmond Park last week.
In the three previous meetings between the sides this season, the Saints are unbeaten having picked up a win and two draws. Simon Madden netted a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw in Inchicore in May, while Dean Clarke too rescued a point for Harry Kenny's 10 men back in April in another 1-1 draw.
On the opening night of the season, a Mikey Drennan penalty proved the difference as Pat's beat the Leesiders 1-0 in Richmond Park.
In team news, Pat's will have new striker Glen McAuley available after his registration came through following his departure from Liverpool FC, while fellow new signing Ronan Hale awaits international clearance following his departure from Crusaders. Elsewhere, Conor Clifford faces a late fitness test while striker Mikey Drennan is suspended.
"We will travel to Cork with the aim of coming back with a result. It is always tough down in Turner's Cross and there's the added element of the game being on live television too, but that is something that we are really looking forward to.
The new players we have brought in have brought in an added freshness so we will be looking to try get a result. We have picked up three results against Cork already this season and hopefully we can get a fourth on Friday night."
