European Football Returns To Inchicore

This Thursday will see the return of European football to Inchicore when IFK Norrkoping visit Richmond Park for the UEFA Europa League First Round Qualification match.

Richmond Park has hosted many famous European nights before and with tickets selling fast for Thursdays game, it is likely to be another full house on the banks of the Camac.

You can purchase tickets for the game here.

Memorable European Nights In Inchicore

August 28th, 2008
St Patrick's Athletic 2 - Elfsborg 1

Briefly looked to be on course for a cruel defeat at Richmond Park last night, St Patrick's Athletic scored twice in the dying minutes of a frantic and utterly compelling Uefa Cup tie to book their place in the draw for the first round proper.

Goals from Jason Gavin and Mark Quigley sealed the tie in favour of the Dubliners who had come from two goals down in Sweden two weeks previously.

July 26th, 2012
St Patrick's Athletic 2 - Siroki Brijeg 1

St Patrick's Athletic advanced to the Europa League third round qualifiers thanks to a 3-2 aggregate win against Siroki Brijeg, with Christy Fagan the hero following his extra-time winner.

The Saints led at the break thanks to John Russell but were pinned back early in the second-half before Fagan struck in extra-time to make it 2-1 and a memorable night for the Inchicore club.

Fagan got the end of a Conor Kenna header after Chris Forrester nodded on James Chambers' free kick.

Pat's then had Ger O'Brien to thank after a last-ditch tackle prevented Siroki from equalising in the final minutes of extra-time.

July 30th, 2009
St Patrick's Athletic 1 - Krylia Sovetov 0

Declan O'Brien's 70th-minute strike secured a remarkable first-leg success for Jeff Kenna's charges.

Unsurprisingly, Sovetov responded with Rogers pulling out a stop from the top drawer to keep out sub Vladislav Kulik's free kick. There was more tension to come, with Guy heading over after another rapid-fire break as the game ticked into injury time and the Saints rode their luck again but, with Rogers to beat, Timofey Kalachev blasted wildly over.

June 30th, 2002
St Patrick's Athletic 1 - NK Rijeka 0

St Patrick's Athletic have booked a second round Intertoto Cup clash against KAA Ghent on Belgium after a thrilling 1-0 victory over HNK Rijeka at Richmond Park leveled the tie at 3-3 with Pat's winning on the away goals rule.

Mbabazi Charles Livingstone was the Saints hero as he grabbed a goal after 22 minutes as Pat Dolan's side hung on to claim a memorable victory.
