Maher Wins International Award

Saints goalkeeper, Brian Maher has been voted International Under-18s Player of the Year at the 'Three' FAI International Awards.

Maher is away on international duty with the Ireland Under 19s this week as they look to top Group 1 in order to qualify for the 2019 UEFA European Under-19 Championships in Armenia.

The seven group winners in the Elite Round will qualify to join hosts Armenia in the finals, which will be played from July 14-27.

Ireland last qualified for the Under-19 finals tournament in 2011 - when they reached the semi-finals - while they won the competition outright in 1998 after overcoming Germany in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
