Team News: Saints Vs City
St Patrick's Athletic host SSE Airtricity League champions Cork City on Friday night in Richmond Park as they aim to return to winning ways (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Saints head into the game off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers last Tuesday, however the Saints are unbeaten at home in the league since Cork's win over Liam Buckley's side on February 16th - the opening night of the season.
In team news, the Saints will give late fitness tests to, Owen Garvan, Killian Brennan and Dean Clarke, while goalkeeper Barry Murphy is in contention to return to the line-up having missed the midweek game against the Hoops.
Looking ahead to the prospect of facing Cork on Friday, Saints' manager Liam Buckley emphasised the importance on bouncing back from the defeat midweek with a performance.
"Tuesday was a very disappointing night for us as we never got going at all and then gave away a few goals that we would not be happy with at all.
We now have a really quick turnaround to this game on Friday against Cork and we can again expect a similar challenge, if not even tougher," Buckley told stpatsfc.com.
"We've had two tight games against Cork this season where we've been edged out by a goal on two occasions so we've competed well with them, but just lacked that killer instinct or made a small error at a crucial time.
We have had a great home record in Inchicore since the opening game of the season against Cork so we'll be hoping to maintain our current run at home and pick up some points."
Tickets for the game can be purchased online (by home and away supporters) here.
