TEAM NEWS: Saints Vs Waterford (Monday, 7.45pm)

St Patrick's Athletic are back in SSE Airtricity League action on Monday night when they host Waterford FC in Richmond Park (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Saints will be hoping to bounce back from last Friday's 1-0 defeat to Cork City in Turner's Cross and maintain their recent home form which has seen them claim wins over both Limerick and Bray Wanderers in Inchicore.

Pat's will have a full squad to select from as they aim to improve on their last performance against Waterford which saw them go down to a 2-0 defeat in the RSC back in February.

"Last Friday was another frustrating result for us in Cork," Buckley admitted when speaking to stpatsfc.com. "We started the game well and had a few chances which we couldn't convert and hung in there to get 0-0 at the break. They started the second half well and scored and we just couldn't peg them back. Our performance levels have improved in the last few weeks, so we just have to keep plugging away as we will get our rewards if we keep playing to that level."

Focusing on the challenge of facing Waterford, Buckley praised the side who currently sit in third place in the SSE Airtricity League table. However the Saints' manager outlined his belief that his side are very much capable and are targeting victory on Monday night.

"Waterford under Alan Reynolds have made a really strong start to the campaign. They were deserving winners against us in February and have a number of great results under their belt to date. Enough though they were beaten last Friday up in Derry, they performed strongly and could have knicked something. We know that they will travel to Inchicore in good spirits and we need to be fully prepared and focused on the pitch if we are to get a result."
