Maynooth University & St Pat's Scholarship

The window for applications for St Patrick's Athletic/Maynooth University scholarships is now open, with scholars having the opportunity to play League of Ireland football while also pursuing their academic qualifications.

Previous recipients of the scholarship include former Saints' defender and Republic of Ireland U21 international Sean Hoare and former Saints' star Jake Carroll, now of Cambridge United in England. Current Saints' scholars include Jack Bayly and Darragh Markey who have all featured in Liam Buckley's first team squad.

Maynooth University has a strong soccer programme in place, with four men's teams competing in third level leagues - the University's men's teams competing in every division of the CUFL (Colleges University Football League) & the IUFU (Irish Universities Football Union) cup competitions annually.

All teams are coached by experienced UEFA qualified coaches, while all applicants will be considered regardless of which club they currently play for. Soccer Scholarship students & students that represent Maynooth University Soccer have access to the first class sports facilities and supports on campus.

Maynooth won the prestigious Collingwood Cup for the first time in their history in 2014 with St Patrick's Athletic having a strong contingent involved in the side.

Former Saints' player and coach Barry Prenderville is the Soccer Development Officer at the University - for more information click here, or contact Barry on (01) 7086054, or by email at barry.prenderville@nuim.ie
