HAVERTY CALLED UP FOR REPUBLIC UNDER 17s

Republic of Ireland youth team manager Sean McCaffrey has called up young Saint, Noel Haverty, to the under-17 squad for next week's international tournament in the Algarve.

McCaffrey's side are preparing for the elite phase of the UEFA Championship qualifiers, which they reached after topping an earlier qualifying group last October that included Italy, Latvia and the Ukraine.

The Irish will face high-class opposition in the Algarve with Portugal, France and the Netherlands the other teams competing.

McCaffrey sees the upcoming Portugese tournament as ideal preparation for the 17's ahead of their elite phase qualifying matches.

Congratulations to Noel and our schoolboy's section – it is always a great reward to see the players which our club is developing making it through to the national team squads.

Everyone at the club wishes Noel the best of luck as he prepares to fly out this Thursday.
