Russian Oppostion Lined Up
St Patrick's Athletic have lined up a prestigious friendly to be played during the club's pre season training camp in Spain. The opposition, Russian team FK Shinnik Yaroslavl, finished 9th in the Russian Premier Division which ended in November.
The 2006 Russian Premier League season commences on March 18th, with
Shinnik facing Dinamo Moscow in their first game.
While it will prove a tough game for St Patrick's, manager John McDonnell is delighted. The St Patrick's boss commented - "it will be a very tough game for us but it is great to have such quality opposition to look forward to. We are going to Spain to work hard and this game will really test the players. We have added considerably to our squad and this game will give all of our players an idea of the standard we want to reach at this club".
