Forrester Signs On

Following the earlier announcement of the capture of Mark Quigley, St Patrick's Athletic are proud to announce the re-signing of midfielder Chris Forrester for the 2014 season.

The 20-year-old rejoins the Saints for a third season under Liam Buckley's management, having won the league title in 2013, played in two European campaigns, making 48 appearances and notching up a total of 18 goals.

Forrester's career began with Belvedere as a teenager before making the move to his local League of Ireland club Bohemians. However Buckley saw his promise and secured the youngster's signature for the Saints for the 2012 season.

More recently, the creative midfielder had been training with Bristol City with a view to a move, but following the dismissal of manager Sean O'Driscoll, decided to rejoin the Inchicore club.

Forrester has been lauded by many fans and observers for his stand-out talent and silky skills. The YouTube clip of his 2012 wonder strike against Shamrock Rovers has been viewed over 200,000 times, while he has scored some important goals for the club more recently, notably the opener in a 2-0 victory over Dundalk that paved the way for the Saints' 2013 title win.

This is just the first of many exciting events this week for Forrester, who celebrates his 21st birthday on 17 December.

Following Mark Quigley's arrival at the club, Chris Forrester is the 19th squad player to be announced by the management team. His season will commence with the opening tie of the Saints' Setanta Cup campaign, the away leg of the Quarter Final to be played versus Ballinamallard United in Co. Fermanagh on 24 February next.
