Russell Departs Saints

St Patrick's Athletic can confirm that midfielder John Russell will not be re-signing with the club for the 2014 season.

28 year old Russell, who has today been appointed FAI Development Officer in the Sligo region, made a total of 62 appearances for the club during his two years with the Saints. Russell notched 6 goals in his Saints' career, one of which came in the Saints' 2012 Europa League 2nd qualifying round victory against Bosnian side Široki Brijeg.

Russell's impressive form and popularity with Saints' fans was evident in the 2012 season as he was presented the 2012 SEI player of the year award.

St Patrick's Athletic FC would like to thank John for all of his efforts with the club on and off the pitch and wish him the best of luck in his new job with the FAI.
