Sean Keen To Kick On

Despite Tuesday's 2-1 EA Sports Cup quarter-final defeat to Shamrock Rovers, the game witnessed Sean Hoare and Peter Durrad, two of last year's U19 squad, add to their previous experience of first team action.

18 year old Durrad was no stranger to the EA Sports Cup having scored the Saints' winning goal in the second round of the competition after extra time against Salthill Devon, while Hoare starred in the 2-0 win against Longford Town after extra time win in the quarter-finals of the Leinster Senior Cup back in May.

Speaking to stpatsfc.com after the Saints' defeat in Tallaght on Tuesday, the impressive Hoare admitted his disappointment at the result on the night but spoke of the great experience gained from playing on the night, partnering club captain Conor Kenna in defence.

“Yeah it's a brilliant experience. You couldn't ask for anyone any better to be playing beside so I'm just delighted to be getting game time, especially with him.”
