Saints Left With A Lot To Do

St Pat's suffered a 3-0 defeat in Europe tonight, but perhaps the scoreline was a little harsh on the Saints.

Hannover 96 from the German Bundesliga showed their quality in the opening minutes when Leon Andreasen's strike from 25 yards gave Brendan Clarke no chance to give the visitors the lead.

Hannover took a 1-0 lead into half-time but it was the Saints who looked more likely to score early in the second half as they took the game to the away team.

Unfortunately, Hannover extended their lead, against the run of play, when Christian Pander's free-kick beat Clarke after 67 minutes.

Didier Konan Ya got the third for the visitors as the Saints were chasing a crucial goal to bring to the Hannover Arena next week.
