Reverse Auction Extended

The Saints' first team squad have organised a fundraising event for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) in the form of a reverse bid auction.

The father of Saints physiotherapist Fearghal Kerin was recently diagnosed with this serious illness and the team have got together to show their support for both the Kerin family and the IMNDA.

The players have signed a St Pat's home jersey which will be auctioned off, but unlike normal auctions, the lucky winner of the jersey will be whoever has the lowest unique bid.

To enter, simply bid the lowest amount that you think no-one else will bid. If your bid is the lowest unique amount, you will win the signed jersey.

Saints goalkeeper Brendan Clarke explained the reasoning behind the event:

"Obviously the whole squad and management were saddened to hear of Fearghal's dad's illness and we wanted to do something positive to help the IMNDA, who do fantastic work for people with Motor Neurones Disease in Ireland.

"It's a charity which is very close to me and my family as they gave us great support when my uncle Sean (former Saints player Sean Byrne) was diagnosed with and subsequently passed away from the disease in 2003.

"We felt that the idea of a reverse bid auction worked well as it allows everybody to enter and have a chance of winning the jersey and the more people who enter, the more funds we raise for IMNDA."

Entry for a chance to win the signed jersey costs just €5 and you can enter and place your bid at the Club office.

You will also be able to enter at Sunday FAI Cup match against Crumlin, where entry forms will be available at the red cabin.

The auction finishes after Sunday's match and the winner will be announced on Monday.
