Cliftonville Edge Past Saints
Once again St Pats dominated the home leg of the First Round in the Setanta Cup but failed to find a way past the Cliftonville 'keeper.
The Saints had two goals disallowed for offside and also hit the woodwork before the game turned following the red card for John Russell.
Russell, making his debut for the Saints was sent off for a two footed tackle and shortly afterwards the visitors made the most of their numerical advantage scoring a scrappy goal following a free kick.
Saints manager, Liam Buckley, made three changes to try and salvage the tie, but Cliftonville held on and go into the draw for the quarter finals.
