GIVE SMOKING THE BOOT WITH ST PAT’S

St Patrick's Athletic's community team began a soccer coaching course for six class students at Scoil Talbot in Clondalkin last week.

It is hoped that over five weeks, the Pat's Soccer Challenge will help improve the soccer skills each of the three sixth classes in the school and the course will also highlight the dangers of smoking for young people.

Rather than focusing on how smoking affects your long-term health as well as the cost to your pocket, St Pat's is highlighting how smoking impacts on your sporting performance.

Smoking can decrease lung function, can reduce blood circulation and may cause mental and physical alertness to drop.

So the message for young people is clear if you want to maximise your sporting performance - give smoking the boot!
