The club is pleased to announce that Ian Bermingham has re-signed for the Saints for the coming season.

The Ballyfermot native played a key part in a solid Saints defence last year and made over 30 appearances mainly in the left back position.

Speaking to STPATSFC.COM the 21 year old was delighted to be a Pat's player for the coming season:

"When I saw the players that were re-signing I knew we would have a quality side for next season and I wanted to be part of it.

"There is a good core of the team now from last year and I think the experiences of last season will give the lads a lot of hunger to go further.

"We weren't too far away last year, we made the Setanta final and we topped the league for much the season so I really think we can now push on and win something.

"We died away going into the last round of games last season and it was disappointing to miss out on Europe but you would definitely trust Pete to get a few more quality players in that can make the difference.

"The highlight of last year for me would probably have been getting to the Setanta final and also scoring against Rovers up in Tallaght, I don't get too many goals and it's always nice to score against your old club.

"The lowest point was definitely losing the semi-final reply against Rovers, I thought we were well on top until the sending off changed things and that was a hard one to take.

"It is reassuring to have signed, there are a lot of good players out there looking for clubs so it is in your head a bit and it means I can enjoy Christmas a bit more.

"I'm a Pat's player next season, I'm delighted with that and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to preparing for the new season."

Ian Bermingham joins Chris Bennion, Gary Rogers, Brian Shortall, James O'Brien, Conor Kenna and Derek Pender in the Saints squad for 2011.
