ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC FC NEEDS YOU!

St Patrick's Athletic replaced their signage board at their club offices on Emmet Road today with a call for supporters to get behind the club.

Saints boss Pete Mahon is leading the call to come out and support the club over the final few games of the season starting with Saturday's FAI Ford Cup quarter final against holders Sporting Fingal.

Talking to STPATSFC.COM Pete Mahon said:

“Like any club St Patrick's Athletic needs more support but especially towards the end of a long hard season.

We're still in the running for the FAI cup as well and for a place in Europe and it would be disappointing to finish empty handed so I am asking the fans to get behind us over the coming few games.

We're in a recession and there is huge competition out there for people's time and money so getting more people into Richmond Park is a real challenge.

A Saturday afternoon kick off might not be ideal and the League may have its problems but I do believe that there is huge support out there for Irish football.

Over 6,000 supporters turned out to see the Saints play in the Europa League last season at the RDS.

Look at the crowds Shamrock Rovers have managed to build up over the last two years or even from my own experience at St Francis when over 30,000 people turned up for the cup final at Lansdowne Road.

St Pat's has a long history and a solid support base but we need to get; our once-off supporters coming to matches more often, our older supporters coming back again and new supporters coming down to Richmond Park for the first time.

As a club, as a team and as a group of supporters I think we all have a role to play in trying to make this happen”.

Match tickets for St Patrick's Athletic FC V Sporting Fingal are on sale from the Saints Super Store on Emmet Road priced at €15 – adult, €10 – student / OAP & €5 –child with an adult.
