St Pat's Summer Camp
Recent participants in our St Pat's Soccer School were delighted to receive their certificates of completion from Vinny Faherty and Gareth Coughlan.
Originally when we looked at developing a soccer camp for the club last year it was decided to have a focus on quality over quantity.
We needed to ensure that there would be a high ratio of coaches to participants, there would be senior player involvement in the course and the course would not be weather dependent.
It might sound like a small thing but Irish weather can play havoc with a sports camp and if parents are paying money to keep their kids active than we need to ensure that our St Pat's Soccer school does just that.
The last St Pat's soccer school ran for the full week - on the wet days it was switched across the road from Richmond Park to Inchicore Sports Complex.
On the soccer side of things the sessions were overseen by a UEFA B qualified coach and his team. There was soccer drills mainly in the morning and mini games in the afternoon and time for a few soccer challenges and competitions.
All participants received a high quality St Pat's training top, shorts and socks as well as a kitbag, badge, match ticket and course certificate.
First team players like Vinny, Gareth as well as Dave McAllister, Danny North and Shane Guthrie all dropped in to take part, to give a bit of advice and to sign the training tops.
Many of the parents came down for the final day, we received very positive feedback on the course and the probably biggest compliment was seeing a number asking for application forms for the August course.
