ST PAT’S SPONSOR LOCAL SCHOOLS SOCCER COMPETITION
St Patrick's Athletic have sponsored a football competition for both boys and girls among the four main local primary schools from Inchicore and Bluebell - Our Lady of the Wayside, Our Lady of Lourdes, The Inchicore National Boys School and Scoil Mhuire gan Smal.
The girls' final was recently played amid a great atmosphere at Richmond Park and after a very sporting match Our Lady of Lourdes School won the Tom Corcoran Memorial Cup.
The club are delighted to help the schools and local community coming together through sport in this way and hopefully the finals will become an annual fixture at the club.
The competition allowed St Pat's to acknowledge the contribution of the late Tom Corcoran to the club by naming a cup in his honour.
Tom was a great servant to St Pat's over a long number of years and it was great to see his wife Adrienne and daughter Eimear at the ground to present the cup to the winning school team.
The second cup sponsored by the club was named in memory of Peter Perry who for many years worked as a boxing coach with young people from the local areas.
