St Patrick's Athletic have sponsored a local primary schools soccer competition for girls and boys involving all four locally based schools with the finals due to take place at Richmond Park.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Our Lady of the Wayside, Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal and Inchicore National Boys School - were all invited to compete in an inter- schools soccer competition.

All teams played each other once with the top two teams progressing to the final.

The girls' final between our Lady of Wayside (Bluebell) and Our Lady of Lourdes (Inchicore) is scheduled to take place next Wednesday 9th May at 1.30pm Richmond Park.

The boys' final is due to take place between Our Lady of Lourdes and the Inchicore National School.

As a community based competition - friends, families and neighbours are more than welcome to come along to the ground and support their local school team.

The schools will play for two cups – one cup is named in memory of Tom Corcoran a former director and lifelong supporter of St Pat's and the other in memory of Peter Perry who for many years worked as a boxing coach with young people from the local areas.

“A competition like this is a great way to bring children and schools together through sport and at the same time to acknowledge the contribution that people have made to the community and to our club”, said St Pat's club promotions officer, Declan White.

“St Patrick's Athletic is delighted to be associated with the competition and we hope it becomes a regular fixture at Richmond Park”.
