CHARITY MATCH IN AID OF CHILDREN’S HOSPITALS AT RICHMOND PARK
St Patrick's Athletic were delighted to host Sunday's 98Fm Charity match in aid of Dublin Children's Hospitals at Richmond Park.
The match took place on Mother's day and a big crowd attended the 1.00pm kick off to see a team of celebrities take on a St Pat's legends team.
On the celebrities side were the 98FM dj's, Brian Ormond, Breffni and Geraldine from the Apprentice, Jason Sherlock, Star reporter Mark McCadden, one or two from the cast of Fair City and all under the charge of Fran the Manager.
Michelle Heaton was on hand to give a running match commentary over the afternoon and to give plenty of friendly stick to the players from both sides.
Some of the Pat's legends in action included Paul McGrath, Paul Osam, Darragh Maguire, Trevor Croly, Pat Fenlon, Maurice O'Driscoll, John McDonnell, John Byrne, Richard Sadlier, Mark Ennis and Brian O'Shea and the team was managed on the day by Cyril Farrell.
For once the ground was covered in sunshine and a large crowd of 600-700 were in attendance with many new faces coming to Richmond Park.
While all the attention was focused on the stars on the pitch, a game like this could not take place without a lot of people working away in the background at the club.
The club as well as 98FM would like to say a big thank you to all who supported the event and joined in the family fun atmosphere of the day.
Days like these create special memories and more importantly they help raise valuable funds.
St Patrick's Athletic play UCD this coming Friday at Richmond Park in the Airtricty League (kick off 7.45pm) and tickets are on sale from the club shop on Emmet Road.
