TALBOT SCHOOL PASS THE ST PAT’S CHALLENGE

Two groups of sixth class students from the Talbot Senior School in Clondalkin recently completed the St Pat's Challenge and received their certificates of achievement from councillor Derek Keating.

The St Pat's Challenge is a five week football course provided by local League of Ireland club St Patrick's Athletic.

The programme in Clondalkin has anti-bullying as its main theme and is run in partnership with Clondalkin Youth Services and the course is generously funded by Pfizer.

The Talbot Senior School hopes to run the course again for 5th class students in the new year.

This brings to over 200 the number of children who have now completed the Challenge.

Run by fully qualified coaches from the club, the course is designed to teach the basic skills of football in a fun but challenging way.

At completion of the course the students receive a St Pat's Soccer Challenge certificate as well as a 2010 mini season ticket book from the club to come along and support the Saints.
