PAT’S & ROMANIAN FOOTBALL FANS TO PLAY FRIENDLY

The St Pat's fans team was at full strength on Saturday when they took on and defeated a Bohemians fans' team at Crumlin United's astro pitch.

The Saints supporters were level at 2-2 with their northside rivals before pulling away for a convincing 5-2 victory.

The next fixture for the Saints' supporters will be against a team of Romanian football fans this coming Saturday afternoon with the exact time and venue to be confirmed over the next day or so.

Links were established with the Romanian community at the recent Europa League game against Steau Bucharest and a big thank you must go to Niall Hannigan and Ovidiu Matiut for helping to organise both teams.

A small amount of funding has been secured from the FAI by the club to host a reception after the match for both playing teams and their supporters and the match will also help mark the club's involvement in the 2009 UEFA / FARE campaign.

St Pat's football club is committed to being a football club for all the communities and we thank both sets of supporters for their involvement in this upcoming friendly match. Once confirmed, further match details will be highlighted on the website.

St Patrick's Athletic's next home game is against Sligo Rovers on Tuesday 6th October, kick-off 7.45pm at Richmond Park.
