ST PATS MAKE DONATION OF MATCH TICKETS
As part of our ongoing healthy eating promotion to local schools we met recently with Jimmy O'Neill in the course of a visit to St Lorcan's in Palmerstown.
Jimmy is a caretaker at the school and for the last 28 years he has been running an after schools soccer project with thirty or forty kids coming along three afternoons a week at the school.
Over the years Jimmy has seen a lot of young talent pass through the school yard.
He remembers a young Jeff Kenna taking part and as a Pats fans he was delighted to see him coming back to Dublin to manage the Saints.
More recently he has seen Glen Whelan another former participant at his soccer project make the breakthrough onto the Ireland team.
Sometimes the club receives a small allocation of tickets for international matches from the FAI and we were delighted to pass some Ireland V Georgia tickets on to Jimmy in appreciation of all his efforts in promoting soccer and St Pat's in the area over the years.
We hope Jimmy and the lads enjoyed the match and we look forward to seeing them at Richmond Park in the very near future.
