SAINTS APPOINT NEW MANAGER
St Patrick's Athletic FC are delighted to announce the appointment Jeff Kenna as first team manager.
Former Republic of Ireland international Kenna, who guided Galway United to safety in the Premier Division last season, will officially take charge of the team when they return for pre-season training on Jan 21st.
"Jeff brings a great deal of football experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the role and everyone at the club is looking forward to working with him over the coming season" said Pat's CEO Richard Sadlier.
A native of Palmerstown, Kenna was capped 27 times by Republic of Ireland during his playing days. He began his professional career at Southamption before moving to Blackburn Rovers, helping the club to the Premiership title during his time at Ewood Park.
He later played Birmingham City, Derby County and Kidderminster Harriers before taking over as manager at Terryland Park last season.
Speaking exclusively to stpatsfc.com Kenna is looking forward to his time in Inchicore.
“Next season is a big challenge for Pat's but it's a big challenge for every other club in the league as well so I'm looking forward to it.
“I've already seen most of the Pat's players in action so it will be good to start working with them on the training pitch.
“Before I joined Kidderminster in 2006 I nearly signed for Pat's, I even had talks with the club chairman so I am delighted now to be handed the chance of managing the side”
