SAINTS KNOCKED BACK

In an intriguing contest that had everything our 16A side will be very disappointed not to have come away with three points from their game away to Castleknock Celtic.

Leading 2-1, six minutes into injury time, Castleknock stole in to nick an equalizer and steal a point.

Pats had fallen behind and trailed at the break 1-0 but in the second half they upped the tempo and Keith Mulvaney brought the sides back to parity. He also gave the Inchicore lads the lead with what looked likely to be the winner until that late, late goal.

That was Mulvaney fifth goal in two games a remarkable return from the striker.

“It was a game that had everything, shots off the bar, clearances off the line, and plenty of goals… sadly all we were lacking from it in the end was the win”, explained a disappointed Brian Gardiner, “but there were many positives from the game which we can take into our next one.”
