EIGHT GOAL BONANZA

Our Under 16A team kicked off their new season having won promotion last season with an entertaining draw in the Brickfields last Sunday.

They shared a thrilling eight goal draw with fellow promoted side Finglas Celtic. The goals flowed as did the football and both sides played a skilful brand of football.

Last season's top goalscorer Troy Forte continued where he had left off nicking his first of the season. However he will face stiff competition from his strike partner and new signing Keith Mulvaney. Mulvaney open his account in the Saints colours with a stunning hatrick.

"We are very pleased with the draw because we had five regulars missing today," said manager Brian Gardener, "Luke Byrne kept us in it at important times with three tremendous saves and Troy and Keith took their chances well. A draw was probably a fair result."
