OPPOSITIONSCOPE - St Pat's V UCD

UCD come to Richmond Park looking for only their second league win of the season. Their first came away to Bray Wanderers in the second game of the new season. First half goals from Timmy Purcell and Paul Byrne secured UCD the win at the Carlisle Grounds.

Since then it has been three losses and four draws. The Students are on a decent run of form in their last three matches having achieved away draws with Shamrock Rovers and Cobh Ramblers. Another draw at home with Bohemians last weekend sees UCD in ninth position in the league.

The UCD manager Pete Mahon expressed the view that he feels he side will not be overawed by their opposition, “It's a big game but it's no bigger than last week. I try not to concentrate too much on the opposition and focus on our team instead. I'm just hoping that we play well. If we do that they we have a chance.”

The Students' only doubts are defenders Brian Shortall (ankle) and Alan Mahon (hip), who both picked up knocks in last week's game against Bohemians but both players are expected to be available for selection tonight.
