GOALZ MEANZ HYNEZ

A Danny Hynes goal 15 minutes into the game gave our Under 13's an excellent win away to Naas AFC on Saturday. On a soggy heavy pitch The Saints turned in a battling performance against a strong and organised Naas side.

The goal followed a corner from the right when Karl Tims met the cross solidly with his head.
A Naas defender positioned on the line blocked the goal-bound effort with his hand – amid the shouts for a penalty inexplicably the referee gave nothing. As the ball bounced around the area Danny Hynes was first to react and drilled the ball into the back of the net for his first goal for the club.

Both the home side and Pats had chances but the score remained 1-0. Martin Carroll made two great stops to deny Naas a goal their performance might have deserved. His first save was brilliantly rushing off his line to thwart the in rushing Naas forward and his second was a fine one handed save onto the crossbar before an unorthodox fly kicking of the ball away to safety.

Tims could have sealed the win for the Inichore lads but his shot was well saved low to the keeper's right when a square pass would have left either Danny O'Leary or Keifer Byrne with and unguarded net.
