Saints Win 2008 FAI Futsal Championship
St Pat's Futsal team have claimed the 2008 FAI Futsal Championship following a 3-1 win over Bohemians at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght.
The St. Pats team comprised of non Irish born players steamed to victory over a busy weekend in which the beat Sligo Rovers 22-3 on Saturday, Bray Wanderers 9-4 in Sunday's semi final before beating Bohemians after extra time in a fantastic tussle. The team now go forward to represent the club in the UEFA Futsal Championships in September.
The winning squad managed by Ovidiu Matiut, is Marcelo Wichmann, Tomasz Golas, Thiago Leon Dos Santos, Nilton Carlos Sant'Ana, Sergiu Musteata, Alexandru Gutu, Pavel Markiewicz, Maciej Lewandowski, Sebastian Palyska, Daniel Niedzielski, Kamil Debski, Artur Opeldus, Wojciech Korzan and they will be attending Friday's home game with Galway United where they will have the winning trophy on display.
