Saints Donate Football Gear To Lesotho
Earlier this year the ambassador of Lesotho, Mrs. 'Mannere Ramaili was welcomed as our guest to an eircom League of Ireland match at Richmond Park.
At the time Mrs Ramailli expressed a keen interested in building links between the club and her homeland so on Monday last the club was delighted to take the small step of making a donation to the embassy of old St Patrick’s Athletic football gear.
Football is the most popular sport in the Southern African state of Lesotho which has a population of just over two million people. Most football clubs are hugely under-resourced in terms of gear and basic equipment so a donation like this would be hugely appreciated.
Lioli FC, a club based in a town of Teyateyaneng in the district of Berea in Lesotho, is to benefit from this donation.

Ex-St Patrick’s Athletic player Stephen McGuiness now with the PFAI was delighted to learn that his old jersey is on its way to Lesotho - “I was no David Beckam so it’s great to think that somebody in Africa will now be running round in a Pat’s jersey with my name on the back of it!”
