SAINTS 17S V DROGHEDA BOYS IN FAI CUP

OUR UNDER 17 SQUAD head to Louth on St Patrick’s Day to take on Drogheda Boys FC in the next round of the FAI Cup. The squad lost out at the semi-final stage last season in a penalty shoot-out to eventual winners Waterford Crystal. This year they will be hoping to reach and win the final of this year’s competition.

Manager Brian Dalton explained, “So far this season we are unbeaten in all competitions and the squad is coming together nicely. I know the players will be motivated not to get beaten, last year they were gutted not to have reached the final.”

“Drogheda is never an easy place to come to,” continued Dalton, “and I’m sure their lads will be up for it as much as ours. It will be a good game of football as both sides are good attacking teams. It would be great to have as many Saints supporters there to support us.”

Youth Director of Football, Jason Carey and team coach Alan Ryan have both been working hard on the sides preparation for the game. Ryan said, “I think we are ready and the lads will definitely know what is expected of them.”

The game kicks off at 3:00pm in United Park, home of Drogheda United this Saturday, St Patrick’s Day.

Come along and support these young Saints at they attempt to reach the competition’s Quarter Final stage.
