Setanta Cup Action Comes To Inchicore

Next Monday will mark an historic day for St Patrick’s Athletic FC, as the Club will play it’s first ever match in the Setanta Cup, against Portadown at Richmond Park.

Having accepted an invitation from the FAI to participate in this year’s competition, now in its third year, the Saints are in a group with Cork City, and Portadown and Dungannon Swifts.

Spirits are high amongst the players who have been in preparation for Monday’s game for the past week. John McDonnell added, “We had to start our pre-season preparations earlier than expected, but the players were eager to start so they could be ready for the fixture. The Irish League is in full swing, but we are confident that we’ll be competitive and our levels of fitness will be good”.
