Gints hails from Latvia's capital Riga and joined the club during pre-season 2009 having impressed Jeff Kenna while on trial.

Gints spent some time with Longford Town last season but was unable to play competitively due to problems with his international clearance.

Played for FK Riga against Bohemians in the 2008 Intertoto Cup and has also played for Universitate Riga and Blazma Rezekne.

Gints can play out wide and up front and will be looking to stake his claim for a first team place having been injured recently.
