Kian Leavy returned to St Patrick's Athletic in July 2023, after his contract at Reading expired.

Leavy joined Reading from The St Patrick's Athletic Academy in July 2018, and spent five seasons at The Madeski Stadium.

The midfielder played for St Pat's in the first ever LOI U15 final in November 2017, losing to Athlone Town, before progressing to our U17s and then moving to the UK in the summer of 2018.

The Ireland U21 international first his first professional contract in July 2021 and made his first team debut for Reading in the EFL Cup against Swansea in August 2021.

The Ardee man (21) made 11 League of Ireland appearances on loan with Shelbourne in the first half of this season before picking up an injury which has ruled him out for a couple of months.

He signed for St Pat's in July and made his debut from the start in the scoreless draw against Bohemians on August 11th. He scored in the penalty shootout win against Derry City in the FAI Cup the following week and made his second league start in the 1-0 victory away to UCD before also starting the 1-0 loss at Shelbourne.

Kian scored his first senior goal for the club with a long-range cracker in the 1-0 win at home to Sligo Rovers last month, which secured European football for next season with a couple of games to spare.

Leavy's excellent form has been him nominated for the LOI / Soccer Writers Player of the Month for October as well as the Manguard Plus / St Patrick's Athletic POTM for October.

He started and starred on our 2023 FAI Cup final win against Bohemians and signed a new multi-year contract at Richmond Park in February 2024 ahead of the new season.
