Bucko: We Want To Win It

  • Mon, Feb 09, 2015 @ 15:36

Liam Buckley has told stpatsfc.com he is keen for his side to get their 2015 sesaon off to a winning start in tonight's fourth round Leinster Senior Cup game against Tolka Rovers (kick-off in Richmond Park is 7.45pm).

The Saints begin their defence of the competition in their first ever competitive game against the Leinster Senior League side in what is also the first game of their pre-season preparations ahead of the 2015 SSE Airtricity League campaign.

Buckley admits that both the management and players are looking forward to getting back playing in Richmond Park in front of the home crowd in Inchicore.

“It's been a long break and the players are itching to get back into playing some matches now. We'll be going out for the win tonight, no doubt about that. We won the competition last year so we'll be aiming to defend the trophy this year so a win tonight is the target," he told stpatsfc.com.

Buckley admitted that new signings such as Conor O'Malley, Lee Desmond, Jason McGuinness and Ciarán Kilduff are all in contention to make their first appearances in Saints' colours tonight, with a full squad available for selection.

Ticket details for tonight's Leinster Senior Cup game against Tolka Rovers are €10 for adults and €5 for concessions - U12's with an accompanying adult will receive free entry.
