James Brown Is A Saint
St Patrick's Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of James Brown from Kilmarnock, subject to International clearance.
The 27-year-old arrives at Richmond Park on a long-term contract having spent the last two-and-a-half seasons in the Scottish Premiership with Ross County and Kilmarnock.
One of Brown's highlights during his time in the SPL was scoring on his Ross County debut away to Celtic at Park Head.
The former Shelbourne defender moved to Blackburn Rovers from Drogheda United in January 2022 and made his Championship debut away to Birmingham City that May, before loan spells at Stockport County and Doncaster Rovers.
Brown was named in the League of Ireland PFAI Premier Division Team of the Season in 2021, he made over 100 League of Ireland appearances during his previous spell at home and won the First Division in 2020 with Drogheda.
Brown is delighted to be a Saint
"I'm excited and really happy to get it done, I'm looking forward to it.
I made a decision to stay in the UK at the end of last season but I feel now is the right time to come back and sign for St Patrick's Athletic.
The League of Ireland has really taken off since I left in 2022 and I know the standards are very high now. I've been keeping a close eye on it over the last few years, including St Pat's, it's a familiar League that I've played in before and I really excited to get back."

Manager Stephen Kenny has been welcoming his sixth new recruit:
"I'm really played that James has joined the club. He brings real speed and direct play on the right flank and is an excellent crosser of the ball.
I feel his energy is infectious and he is also an exceptional competitor with a really positive attitude and never gives anything less than 100%.
James has had four years in the UK since he was last in the League of Ireland and gained a lot of experience and hopefully we will see the benefit of that at St Patrick's Athletic for the next few seasons."
While Sporting Director Ger O'Brien added:
"We are delighted to bring James to the club and for him to commit his long term future to St Patrick's Athletic. James is an excellent player and has great leadership skills, he has a real maturity about him which will be really beneficial for the dressing room."
