Saints-Galway Falls Victim To Weather

  • Tue, Oct 14, 2008 @ 15:28

Tuesday evening’s scheduled eircom League of Ireland Premier Division encounter between St Patrick’s Athletic and Galway United has been postponed following a pitch inspection at Richmond Park.

The playing surface at the Inchicore venue was the subject of a lunchtime inspection after heavy rainfall throughout the morning.

Galway, who lie bottom of the table with just five games left in which to save their top flight scalps, may be relieved with the postponement.

The club’s star winger Jay O’Shea, who has spearheaded their survival bid in recent weeks, was due to miss the game as he was part of the Republic of Ireland under-21 side on duty in Lithuania earlier this afternoon.

No new date has yet been pencilled in for the fixture.
