Cobh Ramblers 2-2 Athlone Town
On-loan striker Anthony Flood scored both goals for Athlone Town at St Colman’s Park on Saturday night, but the home side came from behind twice in the second half to deny John Gill his first win as midlanders manager.
Flood, signed from St Patrick’s Athletic two weeks ago, struck his first senior league goals for Gill’s side.
He fired the visitors ahead on the hour mark only for Michael Mulconry to level 10 minutes later from Ken Coleman’s cross.
Flood’s second of the night 10 minutes from the end looked set to give the league’s bottom side a morale-boosting win.
However, Kieran O’Reilly pounced for his 12th goal of the season to level for Cobh five minutes later, his shot evading the grasp of substitute Athlone keeper Tadgh Murphy and bouncing into the net.
